Following a massive fire that gutted its fastener factory outside Philadelphia last February, SPS Technologies unveiled rebuild plans, Patch reports.

SPS will rebuild its facility as a 350,000 sq ft aerospace manufacturing plant on the site of its former factory, which was destroyed by fire the company blames an explosion inside a compressed air system. The more automated facility would be 30% smaller but more productive, featuring green technology and LEED certification, according to plans submitted by the company.

The design, including offices and advanced manufacturing space, focuses on sustainability, featuring solar panels and modern, energy-efficient, and environmentally controlled systems.

The company plans to start construction in early 2026, with the new plant fully operational by 2028.
