Japanese fastener firm Saima Corporation has established fastening technology consulting firm Faslab to provide objective professional advisory services to mechanism designers, Fastener World reports.

FasLab is Japan’s first think tank consulting service for screw, bolt, and bolted joint design practices, addressing the common shortage of verification and consulting resources.

Faslab caters to designers’ real-world needs by offering paid technical consulting services based on theory, testing, and analysis — including inspection analysis — without bias toward any specific vendor.

“Currently, this service is limited to Japan only, but it has attracted the attention of many screw distributors,” Saima Corp. told FIN.

Faslab will launch in April.
