Distributor’s Link Magazine founder and publisher Leo Joseph Coar, 93, died January 12, 2026.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1970 he and his wife, Myra, started Leo J. Coar Associates, a manufacturers’ representative agency serving fastener distributors nationwide. Together with partner Maryann Marzocchi, he launched Distributor’s Link in 1977.

Coar was inducted into the Fastener Hall of Fame. Known for his integrity, innovative spirit, and generosity, he was always willing to mentor others, especially start-ups.

“A true titan in the industry and a gentleman as well,” stated retired Tower Fasteners president Mark Shannon.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years; four children; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
