Grainger opened its newest distribution center to serve markets in the Pacific Northwest. The 550,000 sq ft facility is expected to create 150 jobs, increasing the company’s workforce in Oregon to nearly 400 people.
“The Northwest Distribution Center is an important addition to Grainger’s supply chain network, enabling us to provide customers across the Pacific Northwest with faster, more efficient access to the products and services they need to keep operations running,” stated distribution operations VP Kristi Braverman.
The MRO giant first announced plans for the suburban Portland facility in 2023 and broke ground the following year.
Grainger also plans to open a second DC later this year when it completes construction on a facility in Hockley, TX.
