Fastenal reported direct fasteners/hardware (OEM) sales increased 15.9% to $159.3 million in May, while indirect fasteners/hardware (MRO) sales gained 15.3% to $72.9 million during the month.

Overall sales in May rose 9.3% to $751.5 million, while daily sales rose 14.8% to $37.6 million.

Sales in the U.S. improved 13.3% to $617 million (82.1% of overall sales), while sales in Canada/Mexico increased 20.3% to $108.1 million (14.4% of overall sales), and “rest of world” sales climbed 29.9% to $26.3 million (3.5% of overall sales).

May sales to heavy manufacturing customers rose 18.7%, while other manufacturing sales climbed 11.5% and non-residential construction sales gained 16%.

Total personnel grew 2.2% to 24,730 in May.

In the opening quarter of 2026, direct fasteners/hardware (OEM) sales increased 13.8% to $462.2 million, while indirect fasteners/hardware (MRO) sales gained 17.3% to $220.1 million.
