Würth Group reported first half sales grew 4.3% to €10.9 billion. Operating result increased 8.4% to €515 million, outperforming expectations.
While rising energy prices, geopolitical uncertainty and subdued industrial demand, particularly in Germany, weighed on performance, Würth said its fastening technology segment, represented by the Arnold Group, shows signs of recovery.
Sales remains the key driver, with around 44,000 of its 86,700 employees worldwide working in this area. At the same time, eBusiness continues to grow, accounting for 25.3% of Würth’s total sales volume.
“The economic development in the second half of the year will depend on the reliability of geopolitical signs of easing and the stability of key trade routes,” stated chairman Robert Friedmann.
