John A. Carson, Jr., 89, died June 18.

He founded Carson’s Nut-Bolt & Tool Co. Inc. in 1969. In 55 years the distributorship has grown to 80 employees at three South Carolina locations.

Survivors include his spouse of 68 years, Jane; son, James Fletcher Carson of Budapest, Hungary; daughter, Julie Carson Bayne of Travelers Rest, SC; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by son John Adams Carson, III; and granddaughter, Janie Grace Moore.
