NEFCO has acquired Modern Fasteners, a Pennsylvania-based distributor in the construction supply industry. The deal marks NEFCO’s eighth acquisition since 2022 and expands its branch network to 41 U.S. locations.

Founded in 1970 by William Damm as Modern Tool & Equipment, Modern Fasteners changed its name in 1998, and William Damm retired in 2004. The distributorship was operated by Marie Damm and Michael Damm. Web: modernfasteners.com

“Modern has a tremendous reputation for great customer service and has built a strong and loyal customer base throughout the greater Philadelphia market,” stated NEFCO CEO Matthew Gelles.

“We’re looking forward to the many opportunities now available to our associates, along with a much broader range of products available to our customers,” stated former Modern Fastener owners Marie Damm and Mike Damm. “Since Modern has been family owned and operated since 1970, it was imperative we join forces with a company who values their employees, customers and vendors.”

Founded in 1981, East Hartford, CT-based NEFCO is a family-run construction supply company with 21 East Coast and Midwest locations. The NEFCO Fastening Solutions divisions provide inventory management for OEMs. Web: GoNEFCO.com
