Specialty fastener manufacturer Jergens hired Mike Barnes as GM of the Advanced Systems Group (ASG) division. Barnes will oversee staff that provide torque control, fastening, and precision assembly tools to customers in nearly 30 countries around the world.

Prior to joining ASG, Barnes spent time in consulting, commercial and investment banking, business development, a SaaS startup, and private equity and venture capital investing.

“Many of the skills I’ve acquired working with companies at various stages of maturity, from early-stage startups to established industry leaders, will be helpful as ASG capitalizes on its unique capabilities to grow and scale,” Barnes stated.

ASG got its start in the mid 1970s with torque control screwdrivers and other assembly products and solutions. It became an official Jergens division ten years later, and, in 2010, transitioned from a wholesale distributor to a designer, manufacturer, and distributor.
