Grainger is set to significantly expand its warehousing operations in greater Chicago.

Grainger paid $78 million to purchase an 849,691 sq ft facility in Minooka, IL, adjacent to the company’s 1-million sq ft distribution center there.

The new facility is expected to create 40 - 50 jobs for operation.

Renovations are expected to exceed $33 million for property improvements, material/handling equipment and other installations, with the company hoping to complete that activity by the end of 2026.

Grainger’s other Minooka facility opened in 2013 as its central stocking distribution center.
