The FIN Fastener Stock Index rose to 6.5% in the final quarter of 2025, besting a 3.6% increase by an index of related industrial stocks.
Specialty alloys supplier Carpenter Technology achieved the highest increase, rising 33.4% in the final quarter of the year.
Other fastener companies with double-digit gains included Chicago Rivet & Machine Co. (up 33.1%) and Nucor (up 21.2%).
FINdex companies losing double-digit value during Q4 included Dorman Products (down 21%), Fastenal (down 18.1%), and Park Ohio (down 20.3%).
For 2025, the FINdex gained 11.8%, bested by a 15.9% gain from an index of related industrial stocks.
Carpenter Technology achieved the highest yearly gain, growing 88.3% in stock value during 2025.
Other FINdex companies recording double-digit gains included Howmet Aerospace (up 87.3%), TriMas (up 44.1%), Nucor (up 39.7%), Fastenal (up 12.9%), and MSC Industrial (up 12.6%).
Park-Ohio lost the highest percentage of stock value during, dropping 20.2%. Other fastener companies recording losses included Chicago Rivet (down 12%), Tree Island Steel (down 8%), Stanley Black & Decker (down 7.4%), Dorman Products (down 4.9%), Grainger (down 4.2%), and Simpson Manufacturing (down 2.6%).
