
Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales fell 3.3% to $187.7 million (30.1% of overall sales) in September, further declining from a 2.2% drop in August.
Total September sales grew 3.2% to $623.7 million. Daily sales improved 3.2% to $31.2 million. Sales in the U.S. gained 2.3% to $515.8 million, while sales in Canada and Mexico increased 8.3% to $87.9 million.
By end market, sales to heavy manufacturing customers improved 1%, while sales to all other manufacturing customers increased 7.5%. Sales to non-residential construction customers rose 0.9% during September.
Fastenal’s full time workforce increased 3% during the month to 20,894 employees. Distribution / transportation personnel grew 5.6% to 3,151, while manufacturing personnel improved 1.4% to 714 workers.
In the second quarter of 2024, Fastenal’s fastener sales fell 3% to $594 million. OEM fastener sales dropped 2.3% to $373.7 million, while MRO fastener sales declined 4.3% to $220.4 million. Web: fastenal.com
