
Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales fell 6.3% to $191.4 million (30.2% of overall sales) in July, marking its largest monthly sales decline this year.
Total July sales grew 10.5%% to $633.8 million. Daily sales improved 0.5% to $28.8 million. Sales in the U.S. grew 0.1% to $525.4 million, while sales in Canada and Mexico increased 2.8% to $88.7 million.
By end market, sales to heavy manufacturing customers dropped 1%, with sales to non-residential construction customers falling 4.6% during July.
Fastenal’s full time workforce increased 2.6% during the month to 20,939 employees. Distribution / transportation personnel grew 3.9% to 3,057, while manufacturing personnel dropped 1.7% to 708 workers.
In the second quarter of 2024, Fastenal’s fastener sales fell 3% to $594 million. Q2 OEM fastener sales dropped 2.3% to $373.7 million, while MRO fastener sales declined 4.3% to $220.4 million. Web: fastenal.com
