Fastener manufacturer United Titanium has been acquired by equity firm Riverspan Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1962, Wooster, OH-based United Titanium makes specialty fasteners, fittings and precision components from titanium, zirconium and other specialty alloys. Industries served include defense, aerospace, medical and dental, electronics, petrochemical processing and marine engineering.

“With a leading market position, long-term customer relationships, a strong team and secular tailwinds across its end-markets, the company is exceptionally positioned for its next chapter. We are committed to ensuring that United Titanium continues to deliver mission-critical solutions, innovation and service to its customers,” said Riverspan partner Dave Thomas.

Chicago-based Riverspan will provide strategic, operational and financial support to help United Titanium pursue product innovation, operational excellence and global customer growth. The company will continue to be led by president Mike Reardon and his team.

As part of the transaction, longtime industry executive Paul Schwarzbaum will join the United Titanium Board of Directors.
