LISI Automotive opened its upgraded Termax Corp. automotive clip factory in Lake Zurich, IL.

“Thanks our teams' fantastic efforts, the facility has been completely transformed into a world-class manufacturing base,” the company stated on LinkedIn. “Major improvements have been made to enhance safety and working conditions for all employees, while optimizing process efficiency and plant layout. The result is a modern, agile, and efficient facility, perfectly aligned with our operational excellence standards.”

The investment supports customers’ “localization initiatives, providing high-quality, locally produced solutions to meet their evolving needs.”

Founded in 1971, Termax manufactures metal and plastic fastening systems for automotive interiors. In addition to the a 120,000 sq ft facility in Lake Zurich,  Termax operates a 39,600 sq ft facility in Suzhou (China), a distribution platform in Queretaro (Mexico), and a technical sales office in Detroit, MI, and Windsor, Canada.

LISI Automotive, a subsidiary of LISI Group, acquired Termax in 2020. In 2024, LISI Automotive revenue dropped 5% to $637 million, hurt by a 7.5% decline in global production of its main customers.

France-based LISI Group manufactures fasteners and assembly components for the aerospace, automotive and medical implants industries.
