In the first four months of 2025, Taiwan fastener exports increased 1.3% to 421,000 metric tons worldwide, Fastener World reports. However, growth appeared to have slowed in April from a 3.7% rate of gain in the first three months of the year.
The average unit price dropped 2.7% to $3.43 per kilogram, resulting in a total export value of $1.45 billion, a decrease of 1.39% from the previous year.
Fastener exports to the U.S. accounted for nearly half of the total volume at 46.4%, with a slight volume increase of 0.52% to 195,000 metric tons.
Fastener exports to European countries grew 4.3% to 130,000 metric tons, representing 31% of the total.
Combined exports to Europe and the U.S. made up 77.4% of Taiwan’s fastener exports.
During the first quarter of 2025, Taiwan fastener exports rose 3.4% to 327,100 tons as importers increased orders ahead of U.S. tariffs.
