Sweden-based Nord-Lock Group has entered the Brazilian market, opening an office in Joinville in the Santa Catarina region.

Joinville is one of Brazil’s main commercial and industrial centers and is close to an airport and seaport. Nord-Lock opened the office in April and subsequently established operations across the country.

“This new office brings us closer to our customers and allows us to provide faster, better service with local inventory, logistics and support,” said Gediael Bernardes, Regional Sales Manager for Latin America at Nord-Lock.

Nord-Lock also established a legal entity in the country, enabling direct purchasing of its bolting solutions locally.

In June, Nord-Lock acquired UK-based specialty bolting company Energy Bolting. The deal expanded Nord-Lock’s product offerings in critical bolted joint solutions, and also strengthened its position in key industries such as oil and gas, power generation and defense.

“We’ve long aimed to incorporate premium specialty bolting into our portfolio and capture market share in key industries. With Energy Bolting’s expertise and impressive operational capabilities, we’re well-positioned to excel on all fronts,” stated CEO Daniel Westberg.

Founded in 1982, the Nord-Lock Group is based in Malmo, Sweden, and has subsidiaries in the UK, the U.S. in Carnegie, PA; and Asia. Nord-Lock is owned by Investment AB Latour.
