The British & Irish Association of Fastener Distributors (BIAFD) policy adviser Phil Matten will retire at the end of June, the association reports.

Matten’s involvement with BIAFD dates back to 1992, when he joined to represent Fastbolt UK.

He took over BIAFD management in 2004.

“Drawing on his industry knowledge, Phil worked closely with fellow directors to modernize BIAFD,” the association stated.

BIAFD said Matten “has been the driving force behind BIAFD over the last twenty years, helping to guide the association through significant industry developments and ensuring it remains a strong and relevant voice for fastener distributors across the UK and Ireland.”

Matten started in the fastener industry with Fastbolt in 1990 when he was appointed sales and marketing director.
