Howmet Aerospace Inc. announced plans to expand in Morristown, TN, during the Paris Air Show.

“Howmet Aerospace’s Morristown operations play a critical role in enabling the next generation of quieter, cleaner, more efficient engines and power generation. We couldn’t be more excited to continue to grow in East Tennessee with the assistance of our tremendous state, local and regional partners,” stated Merrick Murphy, president of engine products at Howmet.

The announcement marks the company’s second expansion in less than a year, which will create 217 new jobs on top of the 50 positions announced in Hamblen County in July 2024. The company employs more than 1,000 people in Hamblen County and is one of the largest employers in the region.

Pittsburgh-based Howmet manufactures jet engine and turbine components, fastening systems, aerospace structures, and forged aluminum wheels for the aerospace and transportation industries.
