The FIN Fastener Stock Index dropped 1.6% in the third quarter of 2025, underperforming a 6.8% gain by an index of related industrial stocks.

Aerospace supplier TriMas Corp. recorded the largest gain in Q3, with its share value jumping 35%.

Other FINdex companies recording double-digit gains included Dorman Products (up 27%); Fastenal (up 13.7%); and Stanley Black & Decker (up 10.7%).

Fastener companies losing stock value included Specialty alloys supplier Carpenter Technology (down 13.3%); Chicago Rivet & Machine Co. (down 14.5%); and Grainger (down 8.3%).

During the first nine months of 2025, the FINdex increased 4.9%, compared to a 12% gain by an index of related industrial stocks.

Howmet Aerospace achieved the highest gain, growing 80.1% in stock value during the first three quarters of 2025.

Other FINdex companies recording double-digit gains included Carpenter Technology (up 41%); Dorman Products (up 29.3%); Fastenal (up 38%); MSC Industrial (up 23.3%); Nucor (15.3%); and TriMas (up 42.3%).

After declining in the first quarter of 2025, the FINdex rose 9% in the second quarter, besting a 7.9% gain by an index of related industrial stocks.
