
Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales jumped in February to 0.6% growth — the largest monthly growth since April 2023 (1.2%). Fastener sales totaled $189.4 million (30.2% of overall sales). Previous month fastener sales declined 1.7%, improving from December’s 2.2% sales decrease.
Total February sales were flat at $627.1 million. Daily sales improved 5% to $31.3 million. Sales in the U.S. gained 4.5% to $521.8 million, while sales in Canada and Mexico increased 7.4% to $85.3 million.
By end market, sales to heavy manufacturing customers improved 4.8%, while sales to all other manufacturing customers increased 10.4%. Sales to non-residential construction customers dipped 6.7% during February.
Fastenal’s full time workforce increased 1.2% during the month to 21,245 employees. Distribution / transportation personnel grew 1% to 3,084, while manufacturing personnel increased 8.6% to 950 workers.
During 2024, Fastenal fastener sales declined 3% to $2.31 billion, with higher fastener container costs in the final quarter squeezing product margin.
