Fastenal Co. reported fastener sales grew 1.5% to $208.9 million (30.2% of overall sales) in April, continuing the company’s recent fastener revenue recovery.
In March, fastener sales jumped 4.5% to $208.1 million as customers front-loaded inventory ahead of President Donald Trump’s “reciprocal” tariffs.
First-quarter fastener revenue increased 1.1% to $593.7 million, after seven consecutive flat or declining quarters. Q1 OEM fastener sales grew 3.9% to $380.1 million, while MRO fastener sales fell 3.3% to $213.6 million.
Consolidated sales rose 6.5% to $691.7 million in April, including a 6.5% gain in daily sales to $31.4 million. Sales in the U.S. gained 7%, while sales in Canada and Mexico increased 2.6%.
By end market, April sales to heavy manufacturing customers improved 4.6%, while sales to all other manufacturing customers increased 9.7%. Sales to non-residential construction customers increased 0.9%.
Fastenal’s full time workforce increased 1.8% during April to 21,271 employees. Distribution / transportation personnel grew 1.8% to 3,053, while manufacturing personnel increased 6.8% to 962 workers.
