After more than 350 years in Åshammar, Sweden, BUMAX is relocating to a new factory and headquarters 10 miles away in Sandviken.
The Åshammar factory was newly built in the early 1950s, and BUMAX’s stainless steel fastener production has been based there ever since. The new facility covers 104,400 sq ft, improving production efficiency and adding capacity for future growth. The new laboratory will double the size of the existing one.
“Leaving Åshammar is a big step for us, and we are glad to stay close to home,” the company stated. “Sandviken is in the center of Sweden’s steel belt, which gives us access to industrial expertise and good transport connections.”
The move is planned for Q3 2027 during BUMAX’s annual summer shutdown to minimize production disruption.
