Optimas Solutions’ UK manufacturing division Barton Cold-Form completed a “major production shift” for a client, reducing the delivery lead time from six weeks to six days.

Due to an IT error, a Barton Cold-Form customer’s externally threaded fasteners stock reached a low level, threatening production. Barton Cold-Form reorganized the tooling schedule and cut the tool change to four hours — half the normal time. It also resumed manufacturing overnight and activated local subcontractors for plating and hardening.

Barton Cold Form manufactures externally threaded fasteners for a range of industries, providing Optimas’ UK and European customers with in-house fastener design, engineering and production capabilities.
